FAQs

  • CYC Business Analysts will work on a team to provide pro bono consulting services to small businesses. You will work under the guidance of an Engagement Manager, who will lead you through the processes to develop strategies and recommendations for clients. Business Analysts also have opportunities to attend career-building events where they will learn directly from professionals. 

  • A CYC member is expected to spend at least three hours per week with CYC. It depends on the team you work with. This may include meeting with your team, finishing your deliverables, and responding to feedback. To demonstrate your dedication and commitment to the club, it is required that you attend greater than 50% of our events and meetings.

  • CYC provides pro bono consulting services to businesses across the country. CYC Fordham specifically focuses on small businesses in the Bronx. We have been collaborating and working with businesses in the Fordham area to provide solutions to the problems they are facing. Through this activity, CYC hopes to foster the growth and development of members to build strong consulting skills, preparing them for the future.

  • No, you do not need any prior experience to become a CYC Business Analyst. Although showing hard skills and professional interests in the application process is advantageous, these skills will be gained through your time with CYC. We look for individuals who show a positive attitude, curiosity, and sufficient soft skills to work on a team where they will consistently show up, display high-quality effort, and respond to feedback effectively.

  • To become a CYC Business Analyst, knowing about CYC’s mission and values and who we are looking for in a Business Analyst is important. By understanding this, you can determine whether you align with CYC and demonstrate that you are interested in this role. Being yourself and showing that you are dedicated, proactive, and collaborative will help you come closer to being a CYC Business Analyst.
